Afternoon tea for three.
Dot.Teas is my favorite casual tea. The restaurant gives off a lovely vintage sitting room feel with its large open windows, vinyl tablecloths, and mismatched tea sets. The food is cheap, good, and the portions are right for everything.
From their Dorset Cream Tea to their yummy ham and cheese toasties, Dot.Teas is worth a stop if you ever find yourself in Bournemouth.
Though I’ve only been to Dot.Tea’s thrice, I have a usual whenever I go–well, technically two, if I can convince/drag/bribe my cousin to come along–Dorset Cream Tea & and ham and cheese toastie with crisps. The Dorset Cream Tea is great as it is relatively inexpensive and is more than enough if you’re hungry or want to split with a friend.
Here’s my standard order:
Choice of Sandwich: Egg salad on granary bread
Scone with Clotted Cream and Homemade Strawberry Jam
Dessert: Slice of Lemon Drizzle (not pictured)
Small Pot of Tea: Earl Grey
Dot.Teas is a fantastic, comforting, Dorset-take on the traditional British afternoon tea, and I am dying to go again. I’m definitely homesick for the laid back, relaxed afternoon teas of England with warm scones, fresh clotted cream, and homemade strawberry preserves.
